The Oscars set for major performance change as full line-up confirmed

As the Oscars shapes up to be another unforgettable night of twists, turns and tears, one thing is for sure - we will be treated with some iconinc performances.

While the Oscars may be a little different this year in terms of music, fans are eager to know who will be performing on stage this evening.

It's the first time the original song nominees won't perform while up for awards - but that's not to say there won't be any musical talent for the show. So if you're wondering who will be singing tonight, here's all you need to know.

For the 97th Academy Awards taking place at the Dolby Theatre at Ovation Hollywood in Los Angeles, the star studded event will celebrate the biggest achievements in film this year hosted by comedian Conan O'Brien.

According to producers, Queen Latifah will be part of a musical tribute to the late Quincy Jones, who was honored in November with one of the academy's Governor's Awards just weeks after his death. There will also be performances from Doja Cat, RAYE as well as Wicked's Cynthia Erivo and Ariana Grande.

It comes after the songs from Wicked weren't eligible to be up for the best song award as it has been adapted from the musical, and not original to the film. There will also be a performance from the Los Angeles Master Chorale as well.

In the rare move by the Academy, it means none of the five nominees for Best Original Song—"The Journey" from The Six Triple Eight, "Mi Camino" from Emilia Pérez, "Like a Bird" from Sing Sing, "El Mal" from Emilia Pérez, and "Never Too Late" from Elton John: Never Too Late - will be performed during tonigh's ceremony.

This means potential performances from artists like Elton John, Zoe Saldaña, Selena Gomez, H.E.R., and Diane Warren likely won't be part of the show. Instead, the show's producers will focus on "celebrating the filmmaking community and some of its legends," according to a press release from the Academy.

Wicked co-stars Cynthia Cynthia Erivo and Ariana Grande are expected to open the ceremony tonight with a medley from their hit movie musical, though the exact details remain a secret. Wicked is nominated for 10 Academy awards, including Best Picture, Original Score, Best Actress for Erivo, and Best Supporting Actress for Grande.

There will also be a James Bond music tribute honoring longtime producers Barbara Broccoli and Michael G. Wilson, Variety reported. The performance is rumoured include iconic songs from the James Bond franchise, and sources told Variety that the tribute will include what is being described as "an assembly of surprising and immense talents."

In terms of film awards, this year the hit movie Emilia Pérez is leaing the waywith 13 nominations, followed by The Brutalist and Wicked, with 10 nominations each.
