The Bay’s Georgia Scholes’ off-screen life – from secret pregnancy to Waterloo Road star brother with a fam...

THE Bay is set to return to screens this weekend with actress Georgia Scholes back in the role of Erin Fischer.

The 24-year-old actress first joined the show for series three and has remained with the programme ever since.

But away from screens, her off-screen life is full of just as many talking points as that of her character Erin.

Georgia lives a rather glamorous life and isn't afraid of stripping down to a bikini on holiday for some sizzling Instagram snaps.

She also lets fans into her life as a mum online after a secret pregnancy whilst filming The Bay.

Plus, she even has a rather famous relative with celebrity connections of his own.

Pregnancy Trolls

Having joined the show in series three, Georgia found herself pregnant with her first child by the time the fourth series came around.

As a result of her character not being pregnant, Georgia was forced to conceal her pregnancy from the cameras which led to some rather unsavoury comments from TV viewers about her changing weight.

She was heavily pregnant throughout the fourth series but faced a barrage of fat-shaming comments from viewers who insisted she should have been re-cast for looking "enlarged".

Unaware of her pregnancy, many viewers shared comments criticising her weight gain and suggested she be dumped from the show as a result of her change in appearance.

Amid countless comments about her clear change in weight between the third and fourth series, she wrote online: "Amused at some of the comments I’ve seen about myself in #thebay that I should have been recast because I’m ‘enlarged’, and look ‘old’, reality is this face can’t even get served in a bar.

"Thanks to the bay for keeping my fat a**e in a job n not sacking me for being pregnant."

Hidden baby to co-star daughter

As The Bay only aired after she gave birth, Georgia was able to keep her pregnancy a secret until she have birth to her daughter Thea.

The tot was born in December 2022 with Georgia, then aged just 21, confirming the news on Instagram.

She wrote: "Thea Wioleta Scholes Karlinska. Our little secret, today our lives changed forever and we couldn’t love you anymore."

Her partner, Bartek, even had a tattoo of her name emblazoned on his neck before the birth.

Just a year and a half later, Georgia revealed that Thea had landed a part in The Bay alongside her.

Confirming her baby would be seen on screens in the new series, the actress wrote: "In celebration I thought i’d share why this season is so special to me, THEA made her tele debut !!!

"It’s so magical to me that Season 4 Thea was in my belly and now season 5 she gets to be a part of the magic again but here in person!!"

Acting brother

Georgia is not the only member of the Scholes clan to have found fame on television.

Her brother is Liam Scholes, a hugely popular actor known for his role in the BBC's Waterloo Road.

The more famous of the two, Liam has played Noel McManus in the show since series 11.

Liam also became notable for his high-profile romance with his celebrity partner.

The actor was in a relationship with Coronation Street actress Elle Mulvaney, who plays Amy Barlow in the ITV soap.

The pair split last year after two years together which left their pals in utter shock.

A source said at the time: "Elle and Liam were loves young dream and did everything together.

"Their split has really shocked their co-stars and family and no one knows exactly what happened.

"It was all very sudden and they have both made it clear to pals it would take a miracle for them to get back together again."

Since then, he has wasted no time in forgetting Elle to move on with new partner, Roisin Riley.
