SUFFERING suck-otash — one in seven people admit they have vacuumed naked.

A survey of 2,000 adults found almost 15 per cent were uninhibited enough to hoover the home without clothes.

Over the UK as a whole, that suggests 8.5 million people are happy to tackle their housework in the buff.

Men were more likely than women to strip off, with 18 per cent confessing to naked vacuuming.

Only ten per cent of women were prepared to say the same.Wellbeing coach Rebecca Dakin said: “Home is the place where people feel comfortable enough to let it all hang out.

“There’s been times when I’ve been naked and needed to hoover up a few crumbs so I’ve got my vacuum out. But I wouldn’t recommend doing this on a regular basis. It would be far wiser to put something on before dicing with the Dyson — if only to avoid giving the neighbours an eyeful.”

Other obvious dangers include carpet burns and embarrassing injuries.

People in the South East were most likely to vacuum nude, with 29 per cent confessing to it, while only four per cent in the East Midlands.

For those who do decide to shed their inhibitions, Rebecca recommends taking precautions. Windows and doors company Safestyle, which conducted the survey, said its privacy glass would be ideal for those who regularly vacuum in the buff.

A spokesman said: “This poll shows how relaxed the nation is when it comes to their daily routines.

“But if you choose to chill out in your PJs, or nothing at all, privacy glass would be a good investment.”
