Where would we be without a motivation speech from a van-down-by-the-river-living speaker, or asking for more cowbell? Funko is celebrating Saturday Night Live‘s landmark 50th season with a special new Pop! collection honoring some of the most memorable reoccurring characters that have graced our screens (and made us laugh) throughout the decades.
The SNL 50 Funko POP!s were available for preorder last year, but are available to buy on Amazon now. The latest drop features vinyl figurines of five different classic sketch characters: Bill Murray’s classic Nick the Lounge Singer who debuted in SNL’s second season, Molly Shannon’s “superstar” Catholic school teen Mary Katherine Gallagher, Bill Hader’s reoccurring WXPD News New York reporter Herb Welch (known for hitting interviewees in the face with his mic), Chris Farley’s gut-busting motivational speaker Matt Foley, and the most recent of the bunch, chain-smoking alien abductee Ms. Rafferty, who was portrayed by Kate McKinnon.
Funko had previously released other SNL figurines for the 50th, including Rachel Dratch’s Debbie Downer, Fred Armisen’s Stuart from “The Californians”, Pete Davidson’s Soundcloud rapper GuapLord, Kristen Wiig’s Gilly saying ‘Sorry!’, Chris Kattan’s male exotic dancer Mango, as well as another of Chris Farley’s characters, Lunch Lady, as a Target Exclusive. A complete set of the five new SNL 50 figurines above are also available on Amazon.
These new Pop! figures are the latest in a months-long celebration for the sketch series’ anniversary, following up to the three-hour telecast SNL50: The Anniversary Special premiering Feb. 16 on NBC and Peacock. SNL50: Beyond Saturday Night, a four-part docuseries, released Jan. 16, and Questlove directed the three-hour documentary Ladies & Gentlemen … 50 Years of SNL Music, which came out on Jan. 27. On Friday, Feb. 14, Peacock will also release SNL50: The Homecoming Concert from Radio City Music Hall.
