Ruben Amorim warned he must 'seriously think' about Marcus Rashford's future

Manchester United boss Ruben Amorim has been told to swallow his pride and recall Marcus Rashford.

Rashford has become an outcast at United ever since revealing he wanted to leave the club to seek a new challenge. But Shaun Wright-Phillips reckons the absence of the striker is hurting United, because they don't score enough goals.

And the former England and Manchester City star believes Amorim should bring Rashford in from the cold. Wright-Phillips told Genting Casino: "The only goals that are being scored for Manchester United are coming from Amad [Diallo] and Bruno [Fernandes].

"They need goals. They're desperate for someone to score on a regular basis. Given their struggles, I really think that Amorim needs to seriously think about getting Rashford back into his starting 11. They need Rashford at the moment."

Wright-Phillips reckons United are making a mistake allowing Rashford to leave in this month's transfer window. He said: "Of course, nobody really knows what's going on behind closed doors. We're only getting one side.

"For me, Rashford is doing the right thing, he's just keeping his head down. You’ve got to find a way for Rashford to get in that team. They have nothing else in the attack line. Amad can't do it all and neither can Bruno. They need other options.

"This morning, there's a report that Antony has gone. So now you're another winger down. So what are you going to do? I don't think if they let Rashford go, they're going to be able to bring in a replacement.

"It would be a massive disadvantage for United to sell Rashford without bringing in someone else. Rashford would be much more useful on side, being part of the United team, rather than being moved on in the January transfer window."
