King Charles is set to welcome Volodymyr Zelensky to the Sandringham estate later today.
Amid the worrying trans-Atlantic diplomatic row on Fridaythat saw an explosive row erupt between Donald Trump, Vice President JD Vance and Zelensky, the King, 76, will open the doors of his country retreat to the Ukrainian President.
The news of their meeting comes just days after President Trump accepted an invite from the King for an "unprecedented" second State Visit.
Today's visit at Sandringham will take place following a defence summit with European leaders hosted by Prime Minister Keir Starmer at Downing Street.
Speaking to the Express, royal expert Robert Jobson revealed that the King will likely not speak of Trump during today's meeting with Zelensky.
Mr Jobson said: "The King absolutely won't say anything about Trump. He is a man who is a master of soft power diplomacy.
"He has been doing this for more than 50 years and knows how to be the most graceful of leaders after learning from the Queen."
Although the King will want to "reaffirm the UK's support of Ukraine", Mr Jobson believes he will "absolutely stay away from causing any upset with the US."
Speaking ahead of today's visit, a Palace insider told The Sun: "Zelensky was always due to be in the UK this weekend and so a meeting with the King was pencilled in."
President Zelensky's meeting with the King will come just 24 hours after he met Sir Keir Starmer at Downing Street on Saturday.
Speaking to the Prime Minister of the King, he said: "I’m very happy that His Majesty the King accepted my meeting tomorrow."
Voicing his support for Ukraine, King Charles previously referred to Russia's invasion "indescribable aggression" and an "unprovoked attack on their land".
