The Motherland spin-off Amandaland launched onto our screens earlier this year, and we haven't stopped quoting some of Lucy Punch's iconic lines ever since.
The BBC comedy series follows Amanda (Lucy Punch), post-divorce, as she tackles the everyday hurdles of being a single mum while living in South Harlesden, or as she calls it, SoHa. From brisk afternoons spent watching her daughter play football, and launching a new brand online to a camping trip that is far from the glamorous lifestyle Amanda was so used to, it's a series that has delighted viewers.
Actress Lucy, who starred in the original series of Motherland, is also joined by some familiar faces, including her on-screen mum Felicity (Joanna Lumley) and 'best friend' Anne Flynn (Philippa Dunne). With the first series airing on Wednesday nights, we've taken a look at where the show is filmed, from London hotspots to the picturesque countryside...
Following her divorce, Amanda had to downsize to a flat in South Harlesden, West London, which she shares with her teenage kids. But the location of their pad is actually on Ferntower Road, on the border of Islington and Highbury - a rather posh and pricey area in London. An onlooker who lived nearby said that the production team made the street look "very run down", even complete with a "discarded shopping trolley".
Excitement grew for residents in the area as one wrote online: "Is that Joanna Lumley hiding behind a camper van? OMG it is!". Another local resident said: "I just read that Amandaland is meant to be set in South Harlesden so am now deeply offended they are using our streets."
The flat in the series is estimated to be worth around half a million pounds and is just a few minutes from Canonbury station.
Lucy spoke about her role's new abode and said: "Amanda is now living in an upper-level flat, with someone below her which is a hard pill for her to swallow. She's moved away from Chiswick and all its treats, like Gail's." The actress added: "She's disintegrated somewhat but has galvanised herself, got a blowout, done her nails, bought a new outfit, and is bringing her full Amanda energy to South Harlesden to whip up a storm."
The secondary school where Amanda's children attend is filmed on the other side of London at Oaklands School Sixth Form in Tower Hamlets. Then there's the kitchen company where Amanda secures a job, but insists its a collaboration for her brand, Senuous. The real-life KB&K Kitchen company is located on Leytonstone High Road on the verge of East London.
Similar to Motherland, other parts of London are also featured in the spin-off series, including shots along the River Thames. A scene also shows Amanda driving past the closed York Arms pub in North Finchley.
Locations outside of London used for the series are reported to have been Surrey and Oxfordshire, including for the outdoor car boot sale episode, which almost saw the set blown away. Star of the show Lucy told The One Show: "We were doing a car boot sale and the weather turned and the entire set just blew off." The camping trip episode, which sees Amanda rock up in a retro camping van, was filmed in Southern England at the New Forest.
