Princess Kate teased by Royal Family for doing one thing on royal visits

Princess Kate is no doubt one of the most popular members of the Royal Family, with crowds often flocking out in their hundreds just to catch a glimpse of her.

While the Princess of Wales, 43, now comes across very confident at royal engagements, this was not always the case, especially when she first married Prince William in 2011.

The future queen has previously spoken about how royal life was an adjustment from what she was used to, with Kate even once revealing one thing she does on royal visits that her royal in-laws tease her for.

During a BBC interview to celebrate the late Queen's 90th birthday in 2016, Princess Kate said the family teased her about public walkabouts, claiming she spent “too long chatting” with members of the public.

Kate said in the 2016 interview: “I think there is a real art to walkabouts, everyone teases me in the family that I spend far too long chatting so I think I've still got to learn a little bit more and pick up a few more tips I suppose."

While the mum-of-three still spends a lot of time talking to members of the public who have come out to greet her, it is safe to say she has now mastered the art of walkabouts.

Just this week, Kate was spotted greeting members of the public in Wales on a joint engagement with Prince William.

As well as shaking people’s hands, Kate spent time chatting to royal fans despite the heavy rain.

In one conversation, Kate revealed how Prince William, 42, had been “amazing” throughout her cancer journey.

The princess also revealed how much the public’s support has meant to the family over the last 12 months since her cancer diagnosis.

Kate finished chemotherapy treatment in September and confirmed just last month that her cancer is now in remission.

The couple’s visit to Wales on Wednesday was their first joint engagement in the country since Kate’s cancer diagnosis.
