Princess Kate is well-known for being a loving mother, having made it clear over the years that her three children are her ultimate priority.
Despite having to juggle royal duty with parenting, the Princess of Wales, 43, always makes sure to find time for both.
As well as cooking, playing and enjoying nature with her three children Prince George, 11, Princess Charlotte, nine, and Prince Louis, six, Kate also finds time to mark their birthdays with a very special tradition.
This was revealed in 2019 when Kate spoke to UK baking legend Mary Berry, 89, about cooking in the 2019 BBC Christmas Special A Berry Royal Christmas.
The future Queen said that as well as cooking dinners at home, she also enjoyed making birthday cakes for each of her children’s special days.
Kate said: “I love making the cake.
“It's become a bit of a tradition that I stay up 'til midnight with ridiculous amounts of cake mix and icing and I make far too much. But I love it.”
The princess also previously spoke about how she enjoyed making pizzas with her children from one of Mary’s recipes.
While it is now known that Kate makes her children’s birthday cakes, the family have never revealed how else they mark the royal children’s birthdays.
It is likely the family gather together with relatives for the special days, with Kate and Prince William usually publicly marking their birthdays by releasing a photograph of their children taken by either Kate herself or one of their favourite photographers.
The close-knit family of five also release portraits and birthday messages for both Prince William and Princess Kate on their birthdays each year.
