Popular Nestle cereal recalled after rogue ingredient causes ‘choking hazard’

Nestle’s Frosted Shreddies have been recalled after the company found 14 specific batches may contain a hard piece of sugar.

Customers who bought either a 500g batch or a set of 40g boxes have been told they will be issued a refund over the ‘hazardous’ ingredient.

Customers have been told they only need to send a picture of their batch code at the top of the pack and send it to Nestle to get their money back.

Nestle said: ‘Safety and quality is our first priority and we apologise for the inconvenience caused.’

The Food Standards Agency said: ‘If you have bought any of the above products do not eat them.

‘Instead return them to the store from where they were bought for a full refund. Alternatively, you can contact Nestlé at https://www.nestle-cereals.com/uk/contact.’
