Piers Morgan reunited with one of his Britain's Got Talent co-stars this weekend, with fans demanding he return to the show.
Piers, 59, was on the judging panel of the ITV show for four series, with him having appeared from its debut in 2007 until 2010. He was an original judge alongside Amanda Holden, 54, and Simon Cowell, 65, who are both still on the show.
And following the launch of the new series last weekend, the journalist reunited with former colleague Amanda this week. It has been revealed that Piers and his family were invited to her newly renovated home in Surrey yesterday.
He posted about the reunion on Instagram earlier, sharing a photo of himself and Amanda hugging in the entrance hall of her house. Piers is seen in a blue shirt, a dark jumper and trousers, whilst Amanda opted to wear a black dress for the recent gathering. Her pal Alan Carr, 48, who was among the other guests at the party, was visible in the background.
Piers wrote in the caption: "Such fun to be reunited with my fabulous former @bgt buddy Amanda at her beautiful new home last night… great guests, superb food/wine, and endless hilarity punctuated by her famous cackles." He concluded: "The perfect dinner party. Thanks Mandy!"
Amanda reacted in the comments section of the post, where she shared that Piers' wife Celia Walden, 49, and their daughter Elise, 13, had joined him. Alongside a heart emoji, she wrote: "So lovely to have you both and Elise."
The reunion has been met with support on the platform, having amassed more than 16,000 likes. Some fans have also expressed hope of Piers returning to Britain's Got Talent. One person wrote: "We need you back on the panel Piers." Another said: "The show needs you back at Britain's Got Talent next year Piers. The show is not [the] same without you." A third wrote: "Fabulous entrance hall Amanda with the splendid piano. Good for you, you deserve it as you work hard. Why doesn't Piers come back as a judge in BGT?"
Amanda has also shared another photo from the weekend, which showed her and Alan at a bar inside her home. It's unclear if it was from the same party, with Amanda seemingly wearing a different outfit. She's seen stood beside seated Alan, who decided to wear a floral shirt and maroon trousers. Former racing driver David Coulthard, 53, dressed in a white shirt underneath a black jacket, is seen stood behind the bar. She wrote in the caption on her Instagram Story this evening: "What a wonderful weekend."
It comes following the news that Piers will return to Good Morning Britain tomorrow. He's announced that he will reunite with his former co-host Susanna Reid and Ed Balls, four years on from his high-profile exit from the show. Taking to X, he said tonight: "BREAKING: It's been nearly 4yrs (1,453 days to be precise!) since I departed @GMB rather hastily… but tomorrow morning, for the first time, I'm going back. I'll be on with @susannareid100 & @edballs at 8.15am." His former colleague Susanna has reposted his post.
Piers left Good Morning Britain back in 2021 after clashing with colleague Alex Beresford over Meghan Markle's interview with Oprah Winfrey, during which she opened up about her mental health. Piers' was the subject of Ofcom complaints at the time but the regulator later ruled that they were not in breach of its broadcasting code.
