Goodbye to freedom of speech then! I’m sitting here waiting for a knock on the door from the old bill. Because due to some of the things I say on my show, or the things I post on X, maybe I’m next in line. After a poor grandmother was harassed by police for criticising a Labour councillor, from the same hate-filled WhatsApp group as disgraced MP Andrew Gwynne, nobody is safe. I imagine that because of some of the things I come out with, I will also be getting my collar felt by the woke Stasi as well.
As you know, I’m not 100% well at the moment – probably about 20% really – so I’ve got nothing much to do, and maybe engaging in conversation with a couple of police officers on a misguided mission might be entertaining for an hour or so. Or maybe I wouldn’t really let them in. But seriously, the intimidation that seems to be going on about things people say on social media is very, very worrying.
One moment we’re saying that unless the value of something stolen is over £250 then the police aren’t really going to be bothered.
The next moment we’re told anybody carrying a knife is going to be in prison for a long time, but it doesn’t seem to happen. Is knife crime falling? Is shoplifting?
We’re living in a world that is seriously dangerous, and unless we get a police force with officers who can command authority and are of a certain size and stature, I think we are in trouble. Some of the police officers I have seen waddling around are too fat, too short and too damn slow to uphold the law. That should do it – I’m bound to get a knock on the door now.
