My neighbours keep driving through my garden so I told them I put tyre-bursting NAILS on the lawn – I’m rea...

A PERSON has revealed they are ready to go to war with their neighbour after growing sick of them driving through their garden.

Obviously riled up by the thought of their neighbour using their lawn as a shortcut, the angry tenant took to social media to share their dispute.

Posting on Reddit's r/mildlyinfuriating thread, the anonymous person, using the account @mosterhout, wrote: "Apparently it’s too far to drive around the block and they’ve decided the yard between my house and shed is the better option."

The tenant, from the US, continued: "I’m impressed they take the time to keep moving my rocks.

"Don’t worry, I’m fully ready for this battle and my friends are helping me find some boulders to bring in."

Images attached showed an exchange of texts between them and their neighbour and evidence of a naughty driver using their garden as a bypass.

In the text thread, they'd pleaded: "Hey, please make sure you aren't driving through my yard.

"Someone moved the rocks I put there."

They'd attached an image to the text, showing that they'd placed a row of rocks to deter the culprit from driving through.

Incredibly, it appeared that someone had moved the rocks and driven through their garden anyway.

The text chain showed no response from the neighbour, and the tenant was forced to follow up again a few days later.

They sent a second picture, showing the rocks had been moved again for a makeshift shortcut, and wrote: "This feels pretty petty lol.

"I'm not sure how else to ask you guys not to drive through my yard and move my rocks."

The poster clarified that they rent the property, and the nearby houses are rented by college students.

They weren’t sure if it was the students or their visiting friends causing the issue.

Though they had lived there for over a year, with mostly positive interactions with the students, previous attempts to address the issue in-person failed, as the students were never home when they went to talk.

Hoping for a resolution, they reached out to the owner of the house— one of the students' fathers.

However, their complaint was met with silence, and they "haven't heard back from him yet."

Sick of their complaints falling on deaf ears, the person was forced to think of a better tactic.

Nestled in amongst their rocks, they left a message written on a whiteboard, which read: "This is not a driveway.

"Caution, nails in ground.

"Don't worry, I'm finding bigger rocks so you won't be as tempted."

They explained further down the thread that they hadn't actually deployed their tyre-busting nails, but had given the warning as they were "feeling sassy."

Reddit users react

Reddit users were gobsmacked by the neighbour drama and quickly flooded the comments with their thoughts and opinions.

One person wrote: "I’d place spikes and then when they got stuck report them for trespassing."

Another added: "They don't have the time to drive around your property, but have the time to get out of their car and move the rocks?

The math isn't mathing. It's wild you have communicated with them about it and they're willingly trespassing your property by driving through it."

To which the original poster replied: "That’s the part that my friends and I don’t understand lol. It takes longer for them to move the rocks than to drive around."

While somebody else wrote: "They've entered '**** you, no one tells me what to do' territory. I'd file a police report, you can go down to the station and do it yourself, instead of get an annoyed cop who says 'it's a civil issue.'"
