Meghan will HATE negative backlash but TV show is so uninspiring, it’s a supermarket advert ...

MEGHAN Markle’s new cooking TV show is no different to a “supermarket advert”, claims a royal expert.

Royal journalist & author Robert Jobson said on The Sun’s Royal Exclusive show that the Duchess of Sussex’s series looks a “little dull”.

The eight-part With Love, Meghan, is set to air on Netflix on March 4, after being postponed due to the LA fires.

According to Netflix, With Love, Meghan will offer a fresh take on the lifestyle genre, blending practical food tips with candid conversations.

Robert shared on this weekly’s show: “I mean, it's just like an advert for Waitrose or something It doesn't do anything for me.

“It seems that everyone wants her to fail, but it would actually be quite a good story if it was a success.

“But I'm not overly inspired by it.

“It's not exactly going to be something I'm going to be wanting to tune into, unless it was a professional thing to do.

"It's just a little dull.”

The royal author pointed out that Prince Harry and Meghan have had some “big numbers” with their “royal bashing books and their royal bashing documentaries.”

Robert added: “Now they're trying to do something, I suppose, that they tell us is all positive, and it just doesn't seem particularly inspiring to me.”

Hello Magazine’s royal editor Emily Nash also featured on the episode and told The Sun’s royal editor Matt Wilkinson that a measure of success for the show will be "numbers."

Robert added: "If the numbers are low, really low, it's going to create that negative publicity that she probably doesn't want."

Emily reasoned: “Let's not forget, she had a huge following for the TIG, her Instagram account that did very well for her.

“And if people who followed her for that are still invested now, then there's potentially quite a big audience for it still.”

According to Netflix, With Love, Meghan will see the Duchess of Sussex sharing “personal tips and tricks, embracing playfulness over perfection and highlighting how easy it can be to create beauty, even in the unexpected”.

Their statement added: "She and her guests roll up their sleeves in the kitchen, the garden, and beyond, and invite you to do the same."

Cooking show launch

The Netflix show will have 33 minute-long episodes featuring a host of Meg's various Hollywood friends trying her simple, yet "elevated", food.

A trailer for the programme showed Meghan, 43, inviting friends and famous guests to a California estate where she shares cooking, gardening and hosting tips.

Mindy Kaling, Daniel Martin and Meghan’s friend and Suits co-star Abigail Spencer are set to appear.

This comes as Meghan teased the launch of the show with behind-the-scenes clips of her dancing and preparing a variety of dishes.

Prince Harry was also seen making a cameo in the video.

The series is reportedly being made to complement her lifestyle brand As Ever, which Meghan announced last week.

The Duchess was forced this month to re-brand American Riviera Orchard - originally announced a year ago - due to trademark issues.
