Meghan Markle fans issue verdict on backstage clips from new Netflix show

Royal fans have expressed mixed opinions of Meghan Markle's behind-the-scenes action uploaded onto social media ahead of the release of her new show on March 4 - 'With Love, Meghan'.

The footage was posted to Meghan's Instagram, before being deleted and reposted.

The backstage scenes featured candid moments including Markle dancing in the kitchen barefoot, going through notes with the team, writing on a board, and hugging a camera operator.

The scenes also feature an appearance from her husband Prince Harry, who accompanies her when she's walking out of a door to go outside.

The couple’s beagle, Guy, who died last year, is also spotted in the footage alongside Meghan Markle.

The caption accompanying the footage reads: "Six more days until our show launches on @netflix! Celebrating the crew and everyone who helped make this happen! The countdown begins."

Although comments are switched off for the post, users have taken to platform X to share their opinion of the footage.

One excited user wrote: "The day is getting closer! So exciting!"

Another wrote: "I am so excited to watch #WithLoveMeghan."

Other fans were not impressed with the scenes. One wrote "She’s trying sooo damn hard to be fun and relatable" whereas another said: "Barefoot dancing in the kitchen…yuck."

Another believed her show is similar in nature and content to Pamela Anderson's cooking show, writing: "Wow, #MeghanMarkleAmericanPsycho is totally copying Pamela Anderson. Pamela knocks her out of the park."

It comes as fans have noted that there are striking similarities between Meghan's upcoming series and Pamela Anderson’s lifestyle show, Pamela's Cooking With Love, which debuted just ten days earlier, on February 24. Both shows seemingly focus on blending personal storytelling with lifestyle tips, although they each reflect the unique personalities of their hosts.

The eight-episode show will see Meghan "reimagine the genre of lifestyle programming", Netflix said, as she and guests "roll up their sleeves in the kitchen, the garden, and beyond, and invite you to do the same".

Guests are set to include Mindy Kaling and chefs Alice Waters and chef Roy Choi - who also features in the new teaser trailer in a comical exchange.

Last week in a video uploaded to her Instagram account, Meghan revealed that Netflix is not only the streaming platform for her forthcoming series but a partner in her business, renamed 'As Ever' from 'American Riviera Orchard'.

Meghan even made fun of the first product released by her business, which was a jar of strawberry jam, saying: "Of course there will be fruit preserves, I think we're all clear at this point that jam is my jam.

"But there's so many more products that I just love that I use in my home and now it's time to share it with you, so I can't wait for you to see it."
