A man has been seriously injured in a two-vehicle crash which involved a police car responding to an emergency call in Liverpool.
He was driving a Ford Focus which was in collision with a police Skoda that had its blue lights flashing and siren sounding, said Merseyside Police.
The man was taken to hospital after the crash, which happened at about 09:10 GMT on Sefton Street, where his condition was described as "stable".
The driver of the police car was not seriously hurt, a force spokesperson said, while a police dog in the vehicle was checked over by a vet and not found to be injured.
Air ambulance and fire crews attended the scene and roads in the area were temporarily closed.
Police have appealed for anyone with information to contact them.
