Jade expertly deflected a very awkward question about Holly Willoughby and Phillip Schofield while appearing on the BRIT Awards on Saturday night.
The 32-year-old former Little Mix star was one of the winners of the night - scooping the Best Pop Act against Charli XCX, Dua Lipa, Lola Young and Myles Smith. She also stunned fans with a show stopping performance of her single Angel of My Dreams - with fans fuming that she hadn't been granted the honour to open the night.
After picking up her award and following her performance, Jade took a seat at her table as the awards show continued. Later in the night, host Jack Whitehall sat beside her for a chat - when he dropped a very awkward question involving disgraced TV star Phillip as he asked her about reforming Little Mix, who have been on hiatus since 2021.
He said: "Congratulations on winning this evening as a solo artist. How does that feel?" Jade beamed: "It feels insane. To be honest, I'm very grateful, very grateful." Jack then said: "You know, I'm a big Mixer, and I have to ask, I have to ask... Little Mix. The official line is that you're currently on a hiatus focusing on solo projects. When we say, 'On a hiatus focusing on solo projects', do we mean in more of a Phil and Kirsty way? Or Phil and Holly way?"
While she was clearly stunned by the question, Jade expertly handled it by deflecting. She said: "I think in more of a like, more of a 5ive way. They just got back together? Yes?" Confirming this was true, Jack was then excited by the idea Little Mix could soon reform.
As he continued to chat to the former X Factor winner, conversation got even more awkward - as he referenced the items available to buy from Jade's official website. Jack said: "I want to talk though about this kind of you image you have now that you're a solo artist, it's all a little bit racier. In fact, I went on Jade's website, basically, ladies and gentlemen, as I often do, I clicked on the merchandise store."
As Jade cringed, Jack pressed on. He said: "She knows where this is going. Some of the items that are available to purchase on Jade's website, merchandise like edible underwear. Lubricant... I'm not making this up. It's certainly one way to ensure a standing ovation at your gigs."
As Jack went on, he joked he was wearing one of the sex toys Jade sells through her online store - but then became immediately embarrassed as he noticed who he was sat beside. He said: "I've just noticed that's your mum [I'm sat beside]... I'm so sorry, Norma. I don't make any of these questions. Okay, well, it's been it's amazing to see here. It's amazing to see you flourishing as a solo artist. We absolutely love Jade."
Earlier, Jade shared her shock at winning the Best Pop Act gong. She said while accepting the award: "Oh my God, what?! This is my first solo BRIT Award. Oh my God! I can't cry because I've got to sing later but I did do a little piece of paper in case I won.
"Firstly, oh my God, I'm flustered, I need to thank the fans because that's why I've won the award. Thank you so much for supporting me and relentlessly forcing everyone around you to vote for me. I wanna thank my fabulous team because it really does take a determined village to make a good pop act."
The 'It Girl' hitmaker - who has been dating Rizzle Kicks star Jordan Stephens since 2020 - beat off competition from Charli XCX, Dua Lipa , Lola Young and Myles Smith for the accolade. Jade concluded her speech by thanking her significant other as well as her parents for always believing in her before giving a shoutout to her former bandmates Jesy Nelson, Perrie Edwards and Leigh-Anne Pinnock, saying: "And finally, of course, my Little Mix sisters. I love you so much. I wouldn't have this award without them and they changed my life. I'm so grateful."
