Luke Littler turned his darting dreams into reality earlier this month.
The Nuke, 18, crowned himself as World Champion in a dominant display against darts' former king, Michael Van Gerwen, at the Alexandra Palace. However, Littler now has a target on his back.
Watching on from the wings was Josh Rock, Rocky, 23, had made it to the third round of the Paddy Power PDC World Darts Championship - where he was dumped out by eventual semi-finalist Chris Dobey.
However, that was blip in a great season for Rocky, who claimed the Dutch Darts Championship, and he's now aiming to turn the tungsten tide and claim his maiden major. “Hopefully I’ll win a major - or get to the final of a major so I will have had the experience of being in a major final.
"I would love a Sky Sports major, but I’m not going to be picky - and if I get a major I’ll be happy either way," he exclusively told Daily Star Sport.
However, Rocky will more than likely have to cross paths with his new Team Target team-mate Littler. He added: "I can compete with Littler right now. I can compete with anybody, and I’ve proved it!"
As the two young stars of the sport that has shot into the stratosphere in the past 18 months, Littler and Rocky are always going to be on a collision course.
But he doesn't expect a rivalry to form between the pair: "It’s not as much a rivalry, they don’t happen these days. The standard is so high there are going to be lots of different games!"
Rock was unveiled as Target Darts latest signing on Wednesday (January 22): "It wasn’t a hard decision," the Northern Irish thrower said.
"When I was young lad I wanted to be part of Team Target, because I threw Target darts, used their flights and stems and I always wore their shirts. I always said I wanted to be part of Team Target - and when they came calling it was hard to say no!"
With new darts in hand, featuring a nod to the Giants Causeway in Northern Ireland, Rock is hoping 2025 will be his year - and why shouldn't it be.
