A body has been found in the search for two missing twins in Aberdeen, Scotland. Eliza and Henrietta Huszti haven't been seen since January 7 at 2.12am on Market Street by the Victoria Bridge.
The girls' mysterious disappearance sparked a huge search and rescue operation; however, almost three weeks later, the pair are still missing.
And now a body has been found days after a river search was called off. Police Scotland said: "We were made aware of the body of a person seen in the River Dee near Queen Elizabeth Bridge in Aberdeen around 07:55 on Friday. The body has been recovered from the water and inquiries are ongoing."
Surveillance footage reveals that the sisters spent five minutes by the footpath and Victoria Bridge but didn't interact with anyone else. A text message was sent from Henrietta's mobile to their landlady at 2.12am on January 7, near Victoria Bridge, saying they wouldn't be coming back home to the flat.
The phone was then disconnected from the network and has not been active since, police said. The day after, the sisters' personal effects were discovered in their flat, prompting the landlady to alert the authorities.
The girls' mysterious disappearance sparked a huge search and rescue operation, with officers treating the case as a missing persons inquiry and not a criminal investigation. Eliza and Henrietta moved to Scotland from Hungary about ten years ago and were described as being social but preferred to stay at home. Their brother Jozsef said the pair seemed "fine" in the days before they vanished.
The sisters are both described as white and of slim build with long, brown hair, are originally from Hungary. If anyone has details on the matter, they're urged to ring up Police Scotland on 101, citing incident number 0735 of Tuesday January 7.
