Highest paid actor with 'ungodly' earnings plays 'best ever role' on Netflix

The wrestling legend turned Hollywood juggernaut was recently reported to have landed a role in Martin Scorsese’s next blockbuster with a live action Moana adaptation in the pipeline.

According to Forbes, Dwayne pulled in $88million last year thanks to Red One and Moana 2, and it’s reported that doesn’t even include money going to his agent and lawyer.

When the latter shifted from a TV series to a cinema release, he reached a deal to get a cut of the movie’s profits as an executive producer, earning him what one agent told the outlet was an ‘ungodly amount of money’.

However, many WWE fans think Dwayne is actually delivered his best performances on shows like Raw and SmackDown with his Final Boss character.

The evil amalgamation of Hollywood Rock and his real life position on the TKO board of directors, the alter ego first appeared in the build to last year’s WrestleMania.

With a vicious streak and colourful vocabulary, the Final Boss returned in recent weeks, and he’s set to make his presence felt on tonight’s Elimination Chamber premium live event.

Even before the show, viewers hailed the persona Dwayne’s ‘best’ ever role.

‘The Final Boss is the best character The Rock has ever played… Phenomenal 🔥,’ wrote @Najzees on X, while @realdealANeil added: ‘The Final Boss character is probably the best work The Rock has done in his career.’

‘The Final Boss kills me man. This character is incredible. Dwayne is the best to ever do it,’ agreed @Dsinger89, and @Noy3s tweeted: ‘Clinically insane bad guy Rock is the best character he ever played.’

After appearing more as himself on the Netflix premiere of Monday Night Raw in January, Dwayne brought back the character on SmackDown (which airs on the streamer outside the United States) last week.

He delivered an ultimatum to Cody Rhodes, offering the Undisputed WWE Champion everything he’s ever wanted in exchange for his ‘soul’.

Hours before Elimination Chamber, he issued a warning to the American Nightmare with just seven weeks to go until WrestleMania 42 in Las Vegas, and the whole match card now up in the air.

‘Walk side by side with me, my brother @CodyRhodes,’ Rock tweeted. ‘TONIGHT the City of TORONTO will never be the same when you become my champion and give me your soul.

‘The American Nightmare will live forever. Do the right thing, and I’ll see you tonight at the Rogers Centre ~ final boss (sic)’

Netflix is the home of WWE in the UK, including weekly live episodes of Raw, SmackDown and NXT, plus premium live events including WrestleMania 42.
