Organisers are said to be "pretty pleased" with this year's Glastonbury Festival line-up after signing two big names.
The festival will return to Worthy Farm in Somerset from June 25 to 29 and the full line-up has yet to be unveiled. It's however already been announced that Neil Young, 79, is a headliner and Sir Rod Stewart, 80, is in the 'legend' slot.
Ahead of the event, there's been rumours about potential acts that could perform at it this summer. It's now been reported that organisers have signed up Olivia Rodrigo, 22, and band the 1975 - both of whom have been rumoured for the festival - as the remaining two weekend headline acts.
It's said to be hoped that Olivia and the 1975 - fronted by Matty Healy - will appeal to a younger audience than confirmed headliner Neil. A source told the Daily Mail: "Everyone is pretty pleased with this year's line-up now."
The source continued by telling the outlet: "At one stage, with Neil Young and Rod Stewart's names already out there, some people were concerned that this year's festival was going to be defined as the year of the wrinkly rockers." They added: "Both The 1975 and Olivia Rodrigo are massive names who appeal to a much younger audience, so the hope is that Glastonbury will appeal to the youngsters this year as well as those who might want to see Neil or Rod."
It wouldn't be the first time that the 1975 and Olivia have performed at Glastonbury, with both acts having been on the line-up in previous years. They are now said to be among the headliners for this year's festival though. According the outlet, the 1975 are likely to perform on the Pyramid Stage on the Friday night. Olivia - who has been a rumoured act for this year's festival for months - is instead expected to headline that same main stage at the end of the weekend on the Sunday night. Whilst Neil is thought to be headlining Glastonbury on the Saturday.
Organisers of the festival have already confirmed that Sir Rod will play the Sunday teatime 'legend' slot. His involvement was announced back in November, with him returning to Glastonbury after a more than 20 year absence.
The full line-up however has yet to be confirmed ahead of the festival's return over the summer. A source told the Daily Mail that there could still be another 'surprise' appearance from a 'major, major band'. They however added that it would not impact the apparent main stage headliners.
