Glamourous socialites party in Europe ahead of New Year's Eve

While many Britons face a quiet New Year's Eve at home while isolating or avoiding Omicron, socialites and European royalty have gotten a head-start on celebrations.

In St Moritz, Chelsea FC owner Roman Abramovich's ex Dasha Zukhova has been partying with her friend, Italian beauty Giovanna Engelber, who is the creative director of Swarovski at the five-star Kulm Hotel in St Moritz.

Princess Olympia of Greece, 25, was also spotted in St Moritz, where she spent Christmas with her family, including her mother Crown Princess Marie Chantal of Greece, 53.

Meanwhile in France, Co-founder of Valentino fashion house Giancarlo Giammetti has been living it up with a group of friends at the Château de Wideville, near Paris, which is owned by his business partner Valentino Garavani.

And British society beauties Lady Eliza Manners, 24 and her sister Alice, 26, have been enjoying the snow in Gstaad.

Wearing her best fur, a glamourous Dasha posed in front of the snowy hills of St Moritz, jesting 'You can't buy happiness, but you can buy a ski pass' in a tongue-in-cheek Instagram post shared with her 145,000 followers.

The Russian belle, who used to date Chelsea FC owner Abramovich, 55, has been skiing hard and partying harder with her group of friends, with her stylish pal Giovanna documenting their adventures on her Instagram story.

Snaps taken by the Italian socialite last night show Dasha with ripped tights cosying up to Vogue's creative editorial director Mark Guiducci during a fun-filled evening.

Giovanna and Dasha were also pictured dancing with her sister-in-law, jewellery designer Eugenie Niarchos and model Camille Rowe in a photo captioned: 'Girls just want to have fun.'

The resort holds a special place in Dasha's heart, after she tied the knot there with billionaire shipping heir husband Stavros Niarchos, 36, in January 2020.

Dash and Stavros welcomed a baby boy, Philip Stavros Niarchos in May this year, named after his father who is worth £2billion. Dasha also shares a son, Aaron, and a daughter, Leah, with ex-husband Abramovich, from whom she split in 2017.

Their divorce settlement included the transfer of over $92 million worth of property to Dasha - including a four-storey mansion in Manhattan.

Princess Olympia of Greece, who has been staying in St Moritz with her family, had a somewhat more wholesome evening, with a friendly dinner.

The Greek royal took candid pictures with the other dinner guests, and the group enjoyed a meal - and a few drinks - before going out to ski.

Last week, Olympia looked demure in pictured her parents took of their family Christmas dinner, which also took place in St Moritz.

Kulm, which boasts its 'superior hotel' status online, has strict Covid-19 restrictions and only accept patrons who have a vaccine certificate.

A night spent in one of the hotel's deluxe rooms will set you back £1,141, while the presidential suite, one of the most expensive Kulm has on offer, will cost £3,170 for one night during the Winter season.

A night in one of the cheapest rooms in the hotel would still cost £361.

Also seeing the new year in Switzerland, Alice and Eliza Manners were spotted enjoying the snowy slopes of Gstaad with a group of friends and family.

Alice shared a clip of her mother, Emma Manners, Duchess of Rutland slaloming down the hill like a pro during a sunny day spent skiing with the family.

While the society beauty was having fun on the slopes, her sister Eliza soaked in the sun at the local apres ski bar, overlooking the immaculate mountains.

In the evening, the family got some furry company and were seen cuddling a Spaniel puppy.

In France, Valentino co-founder Giancarlo Giammetti spent time with friends at the beautiful Château de Wideville, near Paris, the prized possession of his friend Valentino Garavani.

The beautiful home was built during the 17th-century house outside Paris, built by Louis XIII’s finance minister and was later home to one of Louis XIV’s mistresses.

Garavani owns several homes around the world, including Gstaad and New York, and bought the eight-bedroom Chateau in 1995.
