Gladiators has taken to its official social media channels to announce the arrival of a second new Gladiator, who will arrive on the show this evening (March 1).
Fans have eagerly been awaiting the arrival of another Gladiator after they'd been promised at the start of the year that two newbies would be joining the series at some point.
Viewers have already been introduced to 23-year-old Cyclone, who is an Irish Powerlifter, and now viewers have had a brief glance at the latest cast member Hammer, who is a World Rowing Champion, in a new teaser video on Instagram.
On the trailer clip for the show that is hosted by father-and-son duo Bradley and Barney Walsh, the caption read: "Get ready for impact! Hammer is stepping into the arena! Watch his debut TONIGHT at 5:45 PM on BBC One & iPlayer. #Gladiators #iPlayer."
Beneath the Instagram post, fans gathered in the comments section to chime their praises. One person wrote: "Well it's about time!! Hammer time!!." A second eager user added: "Finally, the other new gladiator is making his debut, and someone I know also says it’s Hammer time."
A third complained: "Bit late into the show introducing him," while others compared the star to Thor, the Norse God of thunder, lightening and strength.
"This new gladiator seems to based on Thor going by the Hammer," read one comment as a further person echoed: "Thor is that you? If you know, you know."
World Rowing Champion Hammer, 32, will now officially be joining the ranks. Hammer is 6ft 5 inches tall and believes his height to be his overall strength and speed to set him apart from his competition.
In a statement, he shared: "When you've got 19 stone sprinting at you, you've got no chance. I'm getting you."
Gladiators season two returned to screens in mid January of 2025, with a brand new set of superhuman challengers ready to put themselves through the ultimate test.
