Many parents have found themselves social distancing from their own children during the Omicron holiday season.
And celebrity chef Giada De Laurentiis revealed on her Insta Stories this week that she has joined their ranks.
She posted an Insta Stories snap of herself and her 13-year-old daughter Jade sitting far apart while awaiting their coronavirus test results.
Both of them were wearing masks as they sat on opposite ends of a long sofa, stretching their legs out to try and relax.
'Holiday break w/ Jade & Covid,' wrote Giada over the picture, continuing underneath it: '......waiting for test results.'
Giada, who was born in Rome and has studied at the Cordon Bleu, the became a star on the Food Network show Everyday Italian in the early aughts.
She married fashion designer Todd Thompson in 2003 - the year Everyday Italian started - and welcomed her daughter with him.
In fact the cookery whiz and her daughter have the same name as Jade is just the anglicized version of Giada.
Giada announced her amicable separation from Todd in 2014 and they eventually finalized their divorce the following year.
Back when Jade was five Giada said: 'I know I’m her mother, but she’s become my best friend. We have so much fun together.'
She told Parade: 'I never realized I could have so much fun with a 5 year old! I didn’t think it was possible, but we laugh so much, and she’s so inquisitive.'
'I thought maybe she wouldn’t want to cook like me because she’d want to do her own thing, but she’s so into what I do and wants to be by my side every day,' added Giada, who has a Daytime Emmy to her name.
