The FA Cup quarter-final draw is complete.
Seven teams have already confirmed their place among the final eight teams in the competition after a dramatic weekend of domestic cup action. Aston Villa, Crystal Palace, Preston North End, Bournemouth, Manchester City, Brighton, Fulham have all earned their places and learned what awaits next.
Nottingham Forest and Ipswich Town are still to fight it out for their place. The Premier League duo face-off on Monday evening at the City Ground in the final tie of the tournament's fifth round.
They will be playing for the opportunity to take on Brighton. The Seagulls earned their place in the quarter-final after defeating Newcastle United at St James' Park following extra-time.
Fulham defeated Manchester United on penalties to narrowly earn their place in the draw and have been rewarded with a home clash. Craven Cottage will welcome Crystal Palace from across London after the Eagles dispatched local rivals Millwall.
The single representative from outside of the Premier League, Preston, have earned the benefit of a home match in the final eight. Their victory over Burnley has afforded them the chance to play Aston Villa, who beat Championship opposition in Cardiff City last time out.
That leaves Bournemouth to welcome last year's runners-up, Manchester City to the Vitality Stadium. The Cherries defeated Wolverhampton Wanderers on penalties on Saturday, while Pep Guardiola's side defeated Plymouth Argyle, the underdogs who previously sent Liverpool crashing out.
Only City have won the competition in recent memory as they earned victory of Manchester United at Wembley in 2022/23. Aston Villa last tasted success in the competition in 1957, Ipswich 1978, Nottingham Forest 1959 and Preston 1939.
Bournemouth, Brighton, Crystal Palace and Fulham have never lifted the trophy. All four sides will feel that an opportunity to break their duck could be near.
"It's very open now. What a chance for a team to go and win it," said ex-Manchester City and Aston Villa defender Micah Richards. "All the [other] big teams are out.
"Manchester City are obviously the strongest team left in there. This is what we wanted, teams to get a chance."
Ties will take place over the weekend of Saturday March 29, following the international break.
