Darts superstar Josh Rock opens up on one key reason he signed for Target

Josh Rock has been the latest darting star to sign for Team Target.

Rocky, 23, was unveiled as the latest signing on Wednesday (January 22), and he revealed to Daily Star Sport it was a dream come true. "It wasn’t a hard decision," the Northern Irish thrower said.

"When I was young lad I wanted to be part of Team Target, because I threw Target darts, used their flights and stems and I always wore their shirts. I always said I wanted to be part of Team Target - and when they came calling it was hard to say no!"

Rock swapped Mission for Target as his new darts were unveiled to the public.

"I was really looking forward to this year, throwing with these darts, and it’s just like being a baby in a candy shop," he joked before adding his excitement to use Target's K-Flex all in one shaft and stem system.

"When I first got the prototype of these darts, with the flight and stem, they just didn’t seem to fly right. And I don’t know why!

"And just to the left was a set of K-Flex; I stuck them in and it just changed completely. I was so shocked."

Rocky's new darts are slightly different to what he had used last season - with two grip patterns instead of just one, one of which is nice reference to his home country. "Yeah the top grip is in the pattern of the Giants Causeway, back here in Northern Ireland."

That pattern continues into the K-Flex and onto his shirt.

Rocky will also now be able to use Target's Swiss Point system - which he joked will make flying a lot less of hassle: "I don’t have to risk my suitcase not turning up and having no darts, so they will always be in my backpack from now on because I can take the points out!"

Garry Plummer, Chairman at Target Darts, said: "Josh is one of the most electrifying talents in darts today. His passion for the sport, coupled with his incredible skill, makes him an inspiration to players everywhere.

"At Target, we pride ourselves on designing the best equipment for the world’s best players, and we look forward to supporting Josh as he continues his remarkable journey.

"This partnership is just the beginning, and we can’t wait to see what the future holds for 'Rocky'."
