"The northbound section is currently unaffected."
Google maps show long delays
According to Google Traffic maps, congestion from the accident scene closure between Junctions 3 and 2 southbound on the M6 extends back to Corley Services.
The closure has now been in effect for two hours following a six-vehicle collision.

Diversion route in place
National Highways have put in place a diversion route.
Road users are advised to follow the Hollow Square diversion symbol on road signs.
The organisation said about the diversion route:Exit at J3 and take the fourth exit from the roundabout on to the A444 towards Coventry. Head south to the roundabout with the A428 Binley Road. Keep left on approach to the roundabout to take the dedicated lane to the eastbound A428 Binley Road. Follow the A428 Binley Road eastbound to the junction with the A46. At the roundabout take the first exit on to the A46 Coventry Eastern Bypass. Head north on the A46 and keep left (to avoid joining the M69) to reach J2 of the M6. At the junction roundabout take the fourth exit to re-join the M6 southbound. If this closure impacts on your planned route, please allow extra journey time. Plan ahead, you may wish to re-route or even delay your journey.
