Charli XCX stands to win five categories at the 2025 BRIT Awards - as she is up for a string of accolades both as a performer and for her most recent album.

The 32-year-old singer, whose real name is Charlotte Aitchison, ruled last summer with the tracks from her sixth studio album, Brat. At the 2025 BRIT Awards, she is nominated for British Album of the Year, Song of the Year, British Artist of the Year, Best Pop Act and Best Dance Act - and it has already been announced that she won the coveted Songwriter of the Year award.

While Charli is enjoying huge success in her professional life, she also has reason to celebrate in her private life as she is soon to become Mrs George Daniel - with plans to wed the 1975 drummer this summer. Fans may want to know more about Charli's personal life and her dating history as she stands to win a raft of awards at the BRITs on Saturday night.

Here the Mirror takes a look at some of her dating details - and discovers what the star plans to do next after hinting she wants to take a hiatus from making music.

Wedding bells

Charli has been dating 1975 star George since 2022 and the pair became engaged in November 2023. It is believed that the couple will swap vows later this year - with a report last month sharing plenty of details about their rumoured Italian wedding plans.

Insiders close to the couple shared exciting details about the upcoming wedding - explaining that the couple chose Italy for its special significance to them and have booked a venue that suits their unique style of wedding, which won't be traditional. The Boom Clap hitmaker announced the news of her engagement on Instagram on Instagram in November, showing off her dazzling diamond ring.

A source told The Sun: "Charli and George both love Italy and it holds a special place in their hearts so they decided that’s where they want to get married. They’ve found a venue that they think is perfect for their unique style of wedding, which won’t exactly be traditional. The main aim is to have everyone they love come together and obviously there are plenty of people who are desperate for an invite.”

Charli previously said: "“Neither of us are particularly formal about marriage or care about the formalities of the ceremony or whatever. We just want to be together forever and have a party with our friends. That’s what we’re aiming for wedding-wise.” Guests will include George’s bandmates and other prominent musicians such as Troye Sivan and Robyn.

Music director boyfriend

While Charli has largely kept her dating life out of the spotlight, fans have uncovered some details of her past romances. At the 2014 MTV Europe Music Awards in Glasgow, Charli wowed audiences when she took to the stage to belt out her songs Boom Clap and Break the Rules. The barnstorming performance saw fans and fellow celebs get on their feet to cheer her on - while Ryan Andrews, a British producer who she was rumoured to be dating from 2013 until 2014, also expressed his approval.

Taking to X, then called Twitter, the music video director gushed over the singer's performance. He wrote: "So proud of @charli_xcx for her ema performance last night. All the hard work we did over the years has really paid off. She's on fire."

Lockdown love

From 2014 until 2020, Charli was in a relationship with video game producer Huck Kwong. The romance was kept largely out of the spotlight and the pair didn't take a big step to move in together until outside influences forced them to - namely in the form of the Covid-19 pandemic and lockdown.

Opening up to the Daily Mail about their living arrangement, Charli said: "I’m extremely lucky that it has brought us physically close together because now we’re living in the same house but also emotionally, and I finally understand that this person is somebody who I can trust with my life and I will have my security and protection at the front point of their heart no matter what."

Unfortunately, the relationship ended that same year as the couple also split by the end of 2020 - suggesting the pandemic could have also ended their romance. However, it was after this split that Charli fell for her soon-to-be husband, George.

New romance

While Charli has found love in her private life, it seems she may have fallen out of love with her career - as she has signalled she is in no rush to create a new album following the success of 2024's Brat, and she hopes to pivot to an acting career instead. She told The Sun: "It’s probably no music for a while… quite a while. I also want to act now. I’m already there and thinking about that stuff a little bit more."

She added: "The success of Brat and the success of the marketing of Brat is also, in ways, a curse. I’ll pivot but whatever I do next will be compared. I’m aware that whatever comes next will be the albatross, so to speak."

Actor fans may already be aware that Charli is currently working on a production tentatively titled The Moment and is holding open auditions for a range of roles. The project is expected to start filming in the UK this month.
