Former socialite Lady Victoria Hervey has reportedly had her phone stolen in a street robbery - saying London "is not safe and not what it used to be".
The former 'It girl' was left "deeply shaken" after she had her mobile phone stolen by a thief on an electric bike in Pimlico, London, on Thursday evening. Lady Victoria, who lived in LA, now says she is looking forward to returning to the US just two years after swapping LA for London, having lived on America's west coast for 20 years
Lady Victoria has a notable connection to the Royal Family, having dated Prince Andrew in 1999 and continues to be a strong supporter of the Duke of York.
MailOnline columnist Richard Eden wrote: "A guy on an electric bike swiped it out of my hand and sped off with it,’ the Marquess of Bristol’s sister tells me. ‘It’s such a shock’. She has reported the incident to police and says: ‘I managed to wipe all the information stored on my mobile using Find My iPhone app.
"The socialite was able track her phone’s last location. ‘I sent the police the new address where it is, but I don’t think they were able to enter the flat,’ she says. ‘It’s a major inconvenience.’ Lady Victoria wants to return to the USA now Donald Trump is President: ‘The UK right now is like Biden’s America. We are going through the Biden years here right now."
The former socialite revealed in 2022 how she carried a gun in the US and would not give it up despite the Uvalde atrocity. The British socialite who lives in LA – and is today pictured practising at a firing range – told the Sunday Mirror: “I believe we should be able to have guns. It makes me feel safer.”
She said the Texas killing of 19 children and two teachers was “terrible” but claimed that a ban would lead to “genocide” in America. She bought a Glock 19 pistol, once standard issue for LA cops, last November. She said: “It’s terrifying what is happening in Hollywood. The amount of people I know who have had a home invasion and survived because they had a gun.”
Lady Victoria claimed more “concealed carry” gun licences were being given out in California as “police are encouraging people to be able to defend themselves”. But she added: “They need to make things stricter so guns don’t fall into the wrong hands.”
