A 17-YEAR-OLD boy was stabbed at a late night flat party near Nottingham Castle - with SEVEN teenagers arrested.

Emergency crews were called to an address in Hounds Gate at just after 11.40pm on Friday.

Cops said the boy's injuries are not thought to be life threatening though they are serious and he remains in hospital.

An 18-year-old man and four 17-year-old boys were initially arrested on suspicion on affray. They have been released on conditional bail.

A 17-year-old boy and a 16-year-old girl, who were previously reported as being injured in the incident, were interviewed by officers and have now also been arrested on suspicion of affray, the force said.

The boy remains in custody while the girl has been released on conditional bail.

Superintendent Kathryn Craner said: "Thank you to those that have come forward and spoken with us to assist our inquiries.

"We now know that a number of those involved are believed to be known to each other and we continue to work around the clock to establish the circumstances which resulted in the shocking acts of violence.

"It is still believed that this incident is not in any way linked to those that took place in the city earlier this week, however we will maintain a high presence in the city centre with additional patrols continuing over the coming days."

Supt Craner said yesterday: “I am aware that the events of last night – and recent knife related incidents in the city – will be a cause of great concern to many members of our community.

“At present, there is nothing to suggest that this incident is linked to those earlier in the week.

"We will however keep an open mind while the events of last night are meticulously investigated.

“We will continue to maintain a high and visible presence in the city to provide reassurance and speak with anyone who has concerns.

“If you believe or know that someone may possess or carry a weapon, it is vital that you report this to us to help protect and save lives.

"You can also remain completely anonymous in reporting this, or any concerns, by contacting CrimeStoppers on 0800 555111 or making a report online."
