Amy Shark announces major change to New Year's Eve concert in Darwin

Amy Shark has had to make abrupt changes to her tour due to the Covid pandemic.

The 35-year-old singer was due to play at the Darwin Waterfront with her band for a special New Year's Eve event, but will now perform solo at the venue instead.

Amy revealed on Instagram the reason for this was because her band and crew hadn't been able to cross state lines due to border closures and rising case numbers.

'Hey Darwin!' Amy wrote. 'I intended to play my normal show tonight but some of my interstate band and crew have been withheld due to Covid.'

'BUT! I am going to do the full set, solo acoustic tonight as I am safe and well in Darwin,' she added.

The musician asked her fans to 'PLEASE SING REALLY LOUD' at the event.

'This is going to be a rather unique show for us all, but I think it's going to be pretty special!' she concluded.

It comes after Amy stunned onlookers when she put on a surprise performance in Melbourne last Wednesday.

She turned out for an impromptu concert on Evan Walker Bridge in Melbourne's Southbank.

Sharing a series of photos from her street performance on Instagram, Amy described the experience as a 'rush'.

'What a rush. My first time busking. Thank u so much for showing up Melbourne you magical city,' she wrote.

Earlier in the day, Amy had teased her upcoming performance on Instagram Stories by sharing a cheeky selfie.

'I've never done this before! I'm in Melbourne CBD and ready to play some songs and see your faces!' she began.

A large crowd gathered to watch her perform, with the Everybody Rise singer setting up on a secluded section of the bridge.

Amy stood behind a microphone stand and strummed her guitar, putting on an acoustic performance for onlookers.
