Manchester United are out of the FA Cup after a penalty shootout defeat to Fulham at Old Trafford.
The two sides could not be separated after regular time and extra time in a game that offered little in quality from either team - but it's Marco Silva's side who will advance to the quarter-finals after the holders were beaten 4-3 on penalties.
It wasn't until the dying minutes of the first half that the deadlock was broken as Fulham struck from a corner, pouncing on chaos from United in defence as Calvin Bassey nodded home.
The FA Cup holders looked like they were heading out of the tournament before Bruno Fernandes popped up with a brilliant equaliser from Diogo Dalot's cross.
Fulham dominated the ball but United did have a couple of late chances to nick it through Chido Obi-Martin and Alejandro Garnacho - before being forced into extra time.
Mirror Football has taken a look at five major talking points from the game at Old Trafford.
United's corner woes continue
Manchester United fans have come to expect the worst from corners this season and it's no surprise why.
Fulham had four corners in the first half and United players looked nervy at each one, before the final one of the half saw Calvin Bassey head home.
Andreas Pereira's routine was swung in before being flicked on by Rodrigo Muniz - handing Bassey the simple task of nodding the ball past a despairing Andre Onana.
The Red Devils looked at sixes and sevens as they failed to react in time, essentially standing motionless to allow Fulham to take the lead.
United have now conceded 13 goals from corners across all competitions in the 2024-25 season - that's more than any Premier League team.
Alan Shearer said on commentary: "That sums Manchester United up," Shearer said during the BBC's coverage of the match. "They lose two headers with what i would say was a pretty simple ball to deal with. You see they're [Man Utd] slow to react... You have to be bright, you have to be quicker to react.
"Man Utd players aren't but Fulham are, Bassey in particular. He guides it into the corner. I've just said how poor Man Utd have been defending corners, that sums them up."
Bruno steps up again
The Portuguese playmaker so often gets United out of jail and he did so once again in the second half, with time running out - and what a superb finish it was to get them level.
It was a beautiful first-time finish into the far corner after expertly converting a fizzing cross from his countryman Diogo Dalot - who celebrated like it was a World Cup final winner.
That's now two goals and two assists in his last five games for United, showing how essential he is to this struggling team and their chances of success. His tally for the season is now ten goals and 15 assists in all competitions.
And it's in the FA Cup where he is particularly influential. In his last 12 matches in the competition, he has been involved in 12 goals, scoring eight and assisting four.
Of those games, he's only failed to register a goal or assist in two of them. He's had some stick this season but the stats show he is vital for Amorim.
Obi-Martin shows up Hojlund
Rasmus Hojlund's struggles at United this season have been well documented after receiving plenty of stick from supporters over his anonymous displays.
He only played 68 minutes for United and had an incredibly quiet day, failing to test Bassey or goalkeeper Bernd Leno whatsoever.
It was telling, then, that Amorim opted to sub him off for 17-year-old forward Chido Obi-Martin with more than 30 minutes to play.
And in one of the youngster's first involvements, he did more than Hojlund had the whole game as he outmuscled the previously unfazed Bassey as a bouncing ball entered Fulham's penalty area, before firing a dangerous shot across the face of goal.
Shearer's commentary spoke volumes, as he said: "Bassey has had a really comfortable afternoon, no one has put him under pressure like Obi has there.
"Obi has been a real handful. He's certainly offered more then when Hojlund was on the pitch. He's been a nuisance."
Amorim only names seven subs
Perhaps a sign of how stretched United's squad is at present, and how short it is of quality options from the bench.
Amorim opted to name just seven substitutes against Fulham, compared to nine players on the away team's bench - after having eight players in their 3-2 win over Ipswich last time out.
Against the Tractor Boys, Amorim had a handful of options to bring into the action, including Victor Lindelof, Noussair Mazraoui, Christian Eriksen and Casemiro.
But on this occasion, Mazraoui and Eriksen were both in the starting XI, with Amorim forced into a slight reshuffle after Patrick Dorgu's red card. That meant that he had even less to choose from on the bench, where academy stars have often been given a chance of late.
Amorim, however, decided not to name youngster Elyh Harrison on the bench this time as he opted to select two goalkeepers instead in Hubert Graczyk and William Murdock. His only attacking options were teenager Chido Obi-Martin and Alejandro Garnacho, with a total of nine players unavailable for this game.
The 40-year-old will certainly be missing his trusted senior stars like Kobbie Mainoo, Amad Diallo and Lisandro Martinez and the injury crisis, coupled with Dorgu's suspension, meant he didn't have many players to call upon if his game plan didn't succeed.
Glazers and Ratcliffe are targeted
You could sense there was tension at Old Trafford in an eerie atmosphere during the FA Cup clash after supporters gathered before kick off to protest about the Glazers and the rise of ticket prices to £66.
The voices of discontent continued inside the ground during the game as banners were held up referencing the £66 ticket prices, followed by the message: "Your debt not ours" and "stop exploiting loyalty".
United announced they were making a further 200 redundancies this week - after already announcing 250 job cuts last year - and the home supporters made it clear they shouldn't have to suffer as a result with price hikes.
Supporters sang a distasteful song about the Glazers and chief Sir Jim Ratcliffe before chanting "sell United and go home".
